Baby sleeping on different floor

We live in a two-floor house. There is the master on the first floor and two bed rooms upstairs. The crib doesn’t fit in the master so it is upstairs. Our baby is 6 months old and currently is sleeping in the bassinet in the master. Baby sleeps through the night.

Our original plan was to move upstairs to the other bedroom. But we have another baby on the way, so we’re were debating staying in the master so *eventually* (when baby #2 outgrows bassinet) they could have their own bedrooms.

I know there are dangers involved so I am more against it. My husband is for it because our house is small/we can hear well, the risks are unlikely, and we can get a better baby monitor (like a video one).

We need to make the decision in the next couple days because Baby just learned to roll (today) so he needs to go in the crib right away. Anyone have any experience or advice?
