Tongue/Lip tie
Looking for advice on what to do.
Today we went to a lactation consultant for our 7 week old about a tongue/lip tie. He has been pretty fussy since he was born with gas and is making clicking noises like he has a loose latch. Also very refluxy/spitting up often. She said he definitely has a lip tie but tongue she isn't too sure so she recommended us a list of pediatric dentists to get him assessed.
I'm wondering if it would be better to go to a pediatric dentist or she also gave us a contact on our paper for a nurse practitioner that is also a tethered oral tissues specialist.
The specialist is more expensive and a little farther away but would it be better to go there vs just a normal pediatric dentist? They said they also do a follow up to ensure no reattachment afterwards free of charge where the pediatric dentist doesnt follow up at all.
What has been other peoples experience with this? This is completely new to me as our first had no issues at all with breastfeeding
