Is he simply busy or..?

*Long story*

I work in sports. I have to contact SIDS (student information director) all the time for work. It’s so I can schedule interviews with athletes from the opposing teams.

One SID in particular I got in contact with was by accident. He’s also the direct of communications for a big university. We started texting each other back and forth because of work and to schedule interviews with his athletes. Our banter was great.

We eventually met in person when his team came into town to play against my job’s team. When I got home that night, I texted him that it was nice to meet him, thank yous, and all that jazz. He responds to me with this text:

“Such a pleasure meeting you as well! Love your energy and enthusiasm that you have for your job!

Please let me know when you come down to (his city), would love to take you out for some drinks ☺️”

So we scheduled a date! The night before the date he texted me to confirm if we were still on for our date and I said yes obviously. Even slid up on my insta story saying “Wow what a queen.”

The day of our date came up and he sent me a text saying: “Hi I apologize- but a family friend came into town and asked to stay with me. We might have to take a rain check.”

We then proceeded to come up with some dates but were both in busy season. I sent him a text saying “well what days work for you?” or something like that. He left me on read. I haven’t heard from him since Tuesday. Is he not interested anymore or is he simply just busy?
