Spotting before a positive test?

My period is supposed to start tomorrow… I’m not losing hope just yet that this might be my month (or at least trying not too) but has anyone had spotting before getting a positive pregnancy test? Or should I just accept it now and hope for next month…? I want to cry already seeing this but, I’ve been going on 3 years now of trying. I am just feeling lost and slowly losing hope that this will ever happen for me. I just feel like I’m failing at the very basics of life at this point.
