Should I try an IUD?

13 PP with first baby... WAS considering getting tubes tied but everyone is annoying me and saying I will regret it and want another one. I'm 31 years old and even if I eventually DO want another one, I want to wait about 5 years until the first is out of daycare and in school so that we don't have TWO kids to pay daycare for... at THAT point one of us might as well quit and be a stay home mom/dad. But, like I said, I am 31 and if we.do have another one I don't want to be AT LEAST 36 years old and starting over. Anyway, I decided not to get my tubes tied and going to talk to OB at 6 week check up about doing IUD. My problem is that I have only heard horror stories about IUDs. I always hear that they can get dislodged from where it's supposed to stay and getting stuck in the lining of the uterus and cause major issues. I was on depo in high school and it made me a bit crazy. And I was on the pill that worked for 4 and 1/2 years and it made me super anxious and paranoid about being pregnant all. (got married June 2024 and stopped taking the pill because we weren't going to TRY but not PREVENT either and everyone said it could take 6 months or longer to get pregnant after being on the pill for so many years so I stopped and got pregnant immediately on the honeymoon. Is the IUD worth trying or should I stay away and stick to.the.pills

I had the Skyla iud for years and loved it. I didn’t have a period on it and didn’t have excess weight or puffiness. 
I did not like any of the pills I tried or the nuvaring. 
We used condoms effectively between babies which was fine. 
My husband got a vasectomy immediately after our second. Best decision we ever made. He did the follow up and now we don’t use any protection and I’m free of any form of birth control. My husband has ZERO regrets on his vasectomy.

Nexplanon! Absolutely loved it & they say it works better then getting tubes tied my husband's co worker had her tubes tied but got pregnant a few times so they suggested she went with the Nexplanon it just goes into the arm its good for 3 years ive had issues with other birth control but will be getting the Nexplanon again after baby is here and doesnt affect milk supply which was another huge plus

I think it depends honestly. I had an IUD for 5 years and was son the pill for 1.5 years after that or so and stopped taking them 2 weeks after out honeymoon. Same as you not trying yet not preventing and got pregnant with our first 10 months later. Now after 3 babies I have not being able to get under any birth control successfully. The pill was horrible and the IUD (copper) same I had before and loved! Was driving me insane so I took it off a couple weeks ago. Sometimes the body after pregnancy doesn’t take broth control too good. I’m not into the hormonal IUD I don’t want to prevent my body from having a period and such so that I didn’t try. If you ask me use condoms, prevent sex on ovulation days/track ovulation and such. But for me BC   Is off the table and my husband will be getting a vasectomy this summer.

I’m on my third IUD, and could not recommend them more. First one was the copper IUD, and had it for 7 years. Removed it to try and conceive my son. Got my second one after birthing my son, had it for two years, and removed to try and conceive my daughter. I’ve now had my third for four months after I had our daughter six months ago. I have loved all the IUD’s I’ve had. 0 problems with any of them.
