Am I the asshole for going around my professor to be able to turn in a late assignment?

My professor does not accept late work and she does no exceptions at all. So many people in that class have had actually horrible things happen and she will say rules are rules. One of my friends withdrew from her class because he ended up in the hospital from a car accident. She still gave him a 0 even with documented proof. I HAVE to take her class because I need it to graduate. I've been pregnant and was done due until May 20th. My baby came the 9th of April and I had an emergency C-section. I have been dealing with a premature baby and I had an assignment due the day I went into labor. I emailed her about everything and STILL showed up to class 2 weeks post C-section because I'm serious about graduating and she just said her rules are her rules. Well .... As a pregnant student I had rights so I went around her to the person who handles disability accommodations and accommodations for pregnant people. She got contacted by them remind her of Title IX and pretty much told her she had to accept the late work. I was literally in a C-section. Ever since she refuses to talk to me. I really don't care because I walk graduation Saturday. I know plenty of professors who don't accept late work but understand life happens and will make exceptions. I don't think I'm insane for wanting an extension after I had preterm labor and a C-section

@Nicole my assignment was almost done. I was finishing it up that day and was gonna turn it in. Then I went into a premature labor. I only had to finish my conclusion. Also where or not I had done prior is irrelevant. I had until 12am the following day to turn it in so had I not gone into labor I would have made the due date so labor was my reason. Even if I had the assignment finished just not turned in she still would not have accepted it late. Also I posted to vent like many women do on this app
