Gestational sac but no baby?

Hey mamas! 
I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant today( according to my app and last period) but I had my first ultrasound today and there’s an empty gestational sac and no yolk sac or fetal pole, the tech said I could just be a few weeks earlier than I thought so they’re going to recheck in a couple weeks.. has this happened to anyone else??? Thanks in advance!

Happened to me and turned out to be too early to see anything and was and still is a baby so I hope u the best

I have had this happen twice and both times it was a blighted ovum. Most recent one being in March, I was supposed to be around 8 weeks but measured around 5 weeks and no fetal pole or yolk sac. They had me do bloodwork and my levels were rising those two draws, had me come back 10 days later for a follow up ultrasound and sadly nothing had changed. With my successful pregnancies I have been a bit behind but never more than about a week. I hope this isn’t the case for you and you get some good news coming up.

I don’t want to worry you or scare you but this happened to me I had a blighted ovum which is a missed miscarriage I had it happen twice it’s so stressful but you’ll get through it if this is your situation I’m hoping it isn’t though

Do you typically have normal cycles? Did you confirm ovulation? Being up to a week off is normal. Being several weeks off is not (unless you have irregular cycles & don’t ovulate regularly)
