I really like this guy but he has chlamydia￼. We had already been on 3 dates. I told him before we have sex we both need to get tested. I'm glad he listened because he was showing no symptoms and had no idea his ex burned him. Whew because I dodged a bullet! I am willing to give him a chance once it clears up. He seems really honest and sincere. We also get along very well and share a lot of the same interests so we can talk all day. I'm still deciding if I want to keep my options open or not because of the STI. I was with my ex for 4 years and I feel like idk how to be single nor do I want to be. He also was in a long-term relationship before me & I can tell he’s the same way. I guess only time can tell. I’m not in a rush to have sex with him anytime soon. What would you do?

Chlamydia is solved by a pill - i wouldn't judge him for that. Id still date him and wait for the allclear (plua use a condom) before being intimate.

I think there are 2 separate issues at hand. The chlamydia has really nothing to do with keeping your options open because it's easily treatable. It sounds like youre simply not ready for a committed relationship right now for other reasons, or maybe deep down you are, but by assuming hes not, youre putting up a wall. But again thats just an assumption. My husband and I met just a couple weeks after my break up and we were committed right away. Dont assume hes not serious just because he had a recent break up. Or, maybe hes not ready. That needs to be discussed vs assumed.  I think you need to be honest with yourself and actually communicate your expectations and ask his to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings.

I had chlamydia and didn’t know it, my ex cheated on me with everything that moved. The way I found out I had it is I ended up giving it to my now husband 🥲 I don’t think you should hold that over his head. It’s actually pretty common to be a symptomatic with that

You both agreed in getting tested and both were open about it. Chlamidya can be treated with antibiotics, so have him getting treated first, perhaps test again and take it slow. 
I don’t think you need to rush into anything rn, it’s also an opportunity to get to know each other much better.

Clamydia and hes still sleeping with other people is a big nope for me. I would block him and run. Thats what I personally would do.

Why doesn't he take  the medication to cure it? Don't have sex with him until you're sure he no longer has it because if you catch it and leave it untreated for too long you could become sterile.
