Formula and breastfeeding

Question

Hi mommies! I need some feedback and advice! I am strictly breastfeeding my one month old daughter and I want to try formula once in a while but not strictly. What do you guys think? Do any of you ladies do that?

I've given my breastfed babies formula with no issues. If they were only going to have 1 or 2 formula bottles during the day/night then I didn't worry about pumping. I would pump if it was more than 1-2 formula bottles a day,  if I was giving them formula bottles multiple days of the week or if my breast were hurting from not feeding. I just hate pumping. I did use a haaka with my 3rd and got a pretty good freezer stash so he rarely had formula.

You can but you will have to pump that missed nursing session when formula is given to keep your supply up otherwise it will decrease. So in a sense it’s not worth it. If you are wanting to give a bottle here and there then just get a Hakka and catch the let down on opposite breast and give that. But then again you will have to pump that missed nursing session when a bottle is given.
