can you eat before induction?

i’m being induced in about 6-7 hours and my doctor never told me if I was allowed to eat or not? it’s still morning and I am starving.. I know you can’t eat in labor but what about before?

I got a big ol’ box of Raisin Cane’s right before both of mine. And I snacked during. Inductions are long, you’ll need the energy.

Yes! We stopped for breakfast before going in when i was induced last year & will be again on Monday before going to be induced

Yes eat, I also ate during labour though with both of my kids who were inductions 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a huge meal on the way to the hospital to be induced. Thank god!!! I was in labor for 50 hours before finally having a csection and didn’t eat that entire time. I was miserable!! And then the extra meds from the csection made me nauseous for another probably 12 hours. So I didn’t eat for like literally 3 days.

Yes definitely eat! I didn’t eat and I was in labor for 16+ hours. (You can’t eat during) I was so hungry

Yes definitely eat before you go in! I wasn’t allowed to eat after the induction started and it was a really long labor so glad I ate before (not like food was on my mind at that point anyway lol but I’m sure it helped keep my strength up!)
