Giving birth in America?

So I'm from the U.K. Where midwifery is practiced and a natural as possible labor is encouraged. I now live in the US and am pregnant with my first. Iv done a lot of research on birthing here in the US (since i was a midwifery student in England) and have heard hundreds of horror stories of birthing here. How Drs encourage inducing, epidural a and c sections and not everything and every decision is done in the mother and babies best interest! What is your opinion? And how was your birth in an American hospital?
