Cloth vs. disposable diapers

Please fill me in on why cloth or why disposable! Also if you pick cloth, if you can fill in what you need like the cover and inserts I'm new to this and don't know how the cloth diapers work yet! Pros and cons of both would be amazing so we can figure out what route we're going!
