Deli meats?

Can I not eat deli meats at all while pregnant? I’m 30 weeks and all I can think about is a ham and cheese sandwich with cold ham. I won’t do it if there is a risk but I would love to. 😅

Its more likely to get listeria from lettuce than from deli meat and you dont hear people avoiding lettuce when pregnant. Once i learned that fact, i started eating deli meat again

I remember another post about this and someone said their doctor told them it was really outdated information and is directed more towards areas where the meat health and safety standards may not be very good. Which made sense to me. I eat ham as normal but I do cook salami or chorizo just in case

i craved turkey & cheese from jersey mikes my entire pregnancy , i now go once in a while & let them cook my turkey meat well & enjoy it happily. I came to conclusion that some women do worst & have healthy babies 😂😂

I think its more geared towards deli meats that undergo a curing process, like salami or chroizo, or those you buy from a deli counter where they may have come into contact with such meats. As far as im aware prepacked ham is fine and ive eaten it both pregnancies - so far no issues!
