Is this controlling ?

I’m in a “situationship” and hookup with someone I work with. (We used to work together years ago but then both left and then came back. Our situation started when we were gone). He’s an evening manager so he was trained on everything, where as I work overnights and am in training. There’s a guy on overnights that he doesn’t like and he was offering to train me and then there’s a guy in the morning (that he’s even friends with) who was helping me too. His friend is really quiet so I was asking what would get him to talk more. Then I mentioned being trained by them too. Right away, he seemed jealous and was saying that they were bad teachers and he’ll have me show him so he can show me what they did wrong and how he knows how to train me the right way for upper management. I tried to tell him I thought they did okay and he raised his voice a little and was like “don’t act like you know everything now just because one of the laziest workers trained you”. I just stopped talking. I feel like he should’ve been happier for me, knowing that it’ll help me to learn and move up, instead of having jealousy/dominance issues over other men teaching me.
