Is it weird to name baby Winter even though she’s born in spring?

I wouldn’t find it strange, especially since Winter is becoming a more popular name in general. There are plenty of people named April, May, June, August, Summer, Autumn, etc. who weren’t born at those times of year.

It kinda is to me. She's probably going to get asked about it a lot. I have an Aunt June and she is always asked if she was born in June (she wasn't). I can definitely see people constantly asking if she was born in the winter, which might get annoying after a while. And honestly, even if she was born in the winter, I still would suggest a different name because I don’t care for that name in general, but that’s just me!

i know an Autumn born in January and an April born in February. it makes me cringe, tbh. Makes no sense, plus the endless follow up questions plaguing the poor kids- 'why did your parents name you that then??'

My baby is named summer and she was born in January! 🤣 her dad is Brazilian and it’s summer in Brazil in January so does it count? I don’t think it matters. My name is Holly and I was born in May, definitely not a Christmas baby

No, it will be weirder to me if she was born in winter (almost like a lack of idea). Winter is a perfectly acceptable name in English without having to match the season of birth.

I’d find it more weird if you only called your baby Winter because they were born in winter… if it’s a name you like that’s all that matters, the purpose of giving a baby that name isn’t to signify when they were born 🤔
