Progesterone 3 dpo or after BFP?

Caitlin • I`m a married 30 y/o high school digital integration specialist. My husband and I welcomed our rainbow baby into the world 1/2017 and are excited to prepare to expand our family in the next few months.
I had 2 mc's, my dr told me as soon as I get another BFP to start progesterone, folic acid, and baby aspirin. He said we could wait for another mc to do testing to see that I need to be on progesterone, folic acid, or baby aspirin or we could just start treatment as after BFP. I posted this on The Bump and I was bombarded with negative comments about my dr. I understand that most take progesterone 3dpo and stop 10-14 days later unless they get a BFP. I've also read that many women have had luck with taking it after I BFP.
