What week did you install baby’s car seat? 🚘

At what point in the pregnancy should parents consider installing a car seat for their baby? Can a premature baby use the same car seat as a full-term baby?

As late as possible. If you get into an accident the seat is essentially void and medds to be replaced. We had the base for the bucket seat in at around 39 weeks I think. We may have even just thrown it in the car lol.

We just kept ours by the door. We didnt to risk having to replace it if we were in an accident prior to birth.

With my first: 35W With my next 3...after they were born haha I am hoping to install this carseat before baby is born, but it once again means rearranging all the seats which is far easier to do once I don't have a belly in the way (hubby is too tall to do it well so he holds baby while I do it).

36 weeks with my first then my second one, before we went to the hospital for my induction. 
A lot of car seats go down to like 4 or 5 lbs. If you’re concerned about preemie weight, check manual for the seat you purchased

This depends on the size of the preemie baby. All car seats have a minimum weight. For example - I was expecting a preemie with my first, that we unfortunately lost at 25 weeks, so I chose the UppaBaby Mesa because it’s from 4lbs to 35 lbs.
