So when my second baby came into picture, I involved my older one in everything, he got ultrasound pics for his own frame in his room so he can look at his new brother whenever, mind you he was five so we could openly talk abt it. Then when the baby was kicking I’d have him feel and everything was “our baby” bc he’s also apart of the family. We would put things together for him and get the house ready. Also when the baby came it wasn’t like oh no I can’t bc of your brother it was more well we cant do that right now but afterwards yes. It took a lot of involvement and being aware of how you say things to make the other one feel j as wanted and needed. To establish acknowledgment Tht it’s our family and we are all together. As for my two yr old w this pregnancy he’s not fully aware yet but I plan a similar approach to his own level. Right now he feels the baby and he calls my bump baby. Also he knows there’s clothes and items for the baby but he does help me put things up and away for our baby. I think it helps to think of things as a collective. I rlly hope this helps anyone.
