Periods after Paragard?

Curious what everyone’s experiences were with their periods after having Paragard removed. My OBGYN said they could remain completely normal, skip 1 or 2 then come back, or be a little irregular for a while.

Answer

Paraguard is nonhormonal, so it shouldn’t effect your cycles. It may be out of whack for a month because insertion/removal is slightly traumatic to the uterus, so it may delay ovulation. But as far as cycles go, it shouldn’t really effect them in the long run.
