The things students say to get out of doing their work

I feel like I'm just gonna be posting silly stories about my 8th graders all year. One of my 8th grade boys brought his switch to school and was playing on it during class. This is how a conversation with a 14 year old boy went

Me: "Jason put that away and do your work"

Jason: "I don't have to do work I'm sick"

Me:" You're sick?"

Jason: "Yes! I have a disease so I don't feel like doing work. But my video games make me feel better"

Me: "Really? What do you have?"

Jason: "I have feline Leukemia"

Me"..... You have.... Feline leukemia."

Jason: "Yep. So I don't have to do your work."

Me: "Two questions.... Do you know what a feline is? And do what leukemia is?"

Jason: "Of course I do.... I just don't feel like saying the definition.
