Slight cramping /spotting?

Question

I'm pregnant with our rainbow baby, just five weeks along. NYE I was at dinner, I had some cramping so I went to home and to bed. NY day I woke up feeling better,no cramps but when I went to the bathroom and wiped I noticed a tiny spot of blood. I panicked, it brought back thoughts of my miscarriage ( blighted ovum at 8 weeks)earlier this year. I went to the ER, they did an early ultrasound, saw the baby's sac where it is supposed to be but no fetal pole yet, which they said was normal given I'm only 4-5 weeks. My HCG level was just shy of 8000 which corolates with how far along I am. I'm having blood drawn again Monday to compare....I'm trying to stay positive...has anyone had cramping/bleeding early on and gone on to carry a normal pregnancy?  I'm just so nervous of miscarrying again...

I had a blighted ovum in October. I was 6+4, but measured 5+3. I can honestly tell you that I find myself looking for cramps. As crazy as that is, I'm so worried all the time. The slightest pulling in my abdomen I want to rush to the ER. 
It's scary, I legit understand how you feel. I've probably read the first 5 pages on google about cramping in early pregnancy. 
It's mostly normal unless you have bright red blood, and clots, or small stringy clots. I also read that cramps do not mean "miscarriage" cramps come from the lining irritating the uterus/cervix when it falls off.

It's difficult it truly is--you just have to keep going. I talk to my baby, all the time. It gives me reassurance.

Cramping and bleeding is very common in early pregnancy. It's a pregnancy symptom
