Has anyone lost a parent while pregnant?

Hi all. I'm 19.5 weeks pregnant and received a phone call that ny mom might not make it through the night. We're going to drive up (5-6 hr drive) tomorrow to say our goodbyes. We're finally pregnant after 7 years of trying (I'm 36) and I'm terrified the stress of losing her is going kill my baby. Has anyone been through something like this or known someone who had and their baby ended up being okay? I'm so scared of losing my baby too.

Stress don’t hurt baby’s. If by some reason a miscarriage were to happen it’s because there’s genetically something wrong with it . Other then genetics being messed up there not really any other cause of miscarriages unless your drinking a lot or smoking something terrible or take the wrong medication

My dad died suddenly when I was pregnant. I didn’t even get to tell him. It was really really hard and honestly did take away the joy from pregnancy for a while. I still feel sad he has never met any of my kids to this day. Big hugs ❤️❤️

Yes. I know exactly what you’re going through. My mom fell ill when I was 9 months pregnant. I was at the hospital by her side every day for 12-13hrs. I changed her fed her turned and cleaned her everyday. A month after I had my daughter my mom died. I fell into depression and felt robbed of my experience as a new mom. This is all recent too. My daughter was born March 8, 2023 and my moms birthday is March 12 so I made sure she was able to meet my baby. My mom died April 5, and I just found out I’m pregnant again  and due in April. You will never get over the loss of a parent. You just learn how to keep living. I am sorry you’re going through this and I’m here to help you through the grieving process cus I’m still going through it and I know how painful it is. What hurts me the most is that my mom and I had so much planned for my daughter and my mom was supposed to be by my side the whole time. It’s important for a daughter to have her mother beside her during pregnancy and postpartum. Unfortunately, life is can be cruel. I’m here if you need anything.

I lost my Mom to breast cancer when my baby way eight months old. The entire pregnancy she was ill and getting closer to being with Jesus. It was stressful, but my baby brought her so much joy. Focus on you and being stress free as much as possible. It’s your turn to be the momma and forge a great relationship with your child.

The Budget Mom on YouTube and instagram, Miko, lost her mom suddenly a few weeks before her baby shower. She had her son July 28th and he’s perfectly healthy. She cried everyday after she passed until her son was born and even had some anxiety about delivering in the same hospital her mother passed at. 
I’m sorry you are going through this. I lost my Dad when I was 27 way before I had my son @ 34 and lost my Mother last January when I was 38. I lost my mother-in-law this March. I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant. I plan on having their pictures in the delivery room with me. There are other ways I am going to incorporate them into things. 
Just make sure you take care of yourself. Make some time for self care. I will be saying some prayers for you and your family.

I lost my aunt a while ago and I just gave birth two weeks ago and I took my necklace with her ashes to the hospital with me because she’s was more of a mom than my mother and having just the little bit of my aunt with me helped my anxiety so much it was only my fiancé with me at the hospital so I was very anxious but know she was with me even if it was just a necklace with some ashes it helped so much ❤️💔, I’m sorry your going through all this 🙏

I lost a parent when I was 10 so, long before I was pregnant. However, during the third trimester of my first pregnancy my fiancé had unexpected emergency heart surgery. It was incredibly stressful and his family made everything even worse - they tried to get me banned from seeing him in the hospital or getting updates from the doctor since we were not yet married (he was 31 and I was 29 and we'd been together for years!).  Thankfully the hospital ignored them completely and the nurses were very kind to me. Our daughter was born 2 months later and was so perfect. She's still perfect now at 17.  She actually just texted to tell me she loves me as I was typing this.  So … with all the things you have to stress about, I think you can rest easy about your baby.

Stress can definitely be harmful for you and the baby, however it wouldn't cause you to miscarriage. Get ahead of it and see a therapist.
