He doesn't compliment me

He's never said anything besides me having soft lips. I asked if I looked the same as when we met ages ago and all he said was "you have the same face". So I'm probably going to sound a bit insecure, but it's making me wonder if he's even attracted to me at all. Also,I've put on a lot of weight and asked if he liked bigger women a while ago,he said i tend to like slimmer women. How do people gauge if someone likes them if they never compliment them??
