When did yk u were ready for a baby ?

Were you guys aver ready ? Is any one ever 100% ready ? 
What would you tell couples who don’t have kids yet ?

I have 3 kids.. I don’t know if I ever felt “ready”. Life kind of just happened & we adapted.

When you’re stable, in love, have insurance. Discuss childcare, huge expense. Newborn childcare is 1500 per month where I live. Can you afford to survive off one income?

Honestly I never felt ready. We lost a baby, our miracle baby, and I was destroyed. I was told we'd never be able to have kids, that I had cancer, needed a hysterectomy, ect and we were only 21. All of that ended up being wrong, but I was so depressed after losing our baby my husband begged me to try just one round of fertility the month after we married. I told him we weren't ready for a baby, but he convinced me for just one round. Well, our oldest sure was a determined little girl. We were financially stable, no debt, and in a good place, but I still didn't feel ready. 5 months later our youngest came around after I was told natural conception wasn't possible. Now here we are with baby number 3 on the way and I still don't feel ready. I know I'll be able to handle it, but having a baby is always mind blowing for me. After 2 life and death pregnancies and almost dying from major blood loss from massive PP hemorrhaging I'm definately nervous for this baby. I know I'm prepared, but it's always very difficult for me to wrap my head around it.

I think “ready” means different things for different people. I always wanted to be a mom so instinctively I’ve felt ready since I was a teenager, like I was put on this earth to be a mom. Every other career interest always felt secondary. So when we were already on one income and I felt a tug, I started tracking ovulation. We had already not used protection for a few years.
Physically I felt ready until I got pregnant and then I realized I wasn’t taking very good care of myself. So if I’m fortunate enough to have a planned second baby, physical health is one of the criteria for being “ready” for another. 
Financially, I could have been further in my career with established clientele to return to after baby. Expenses pile up quickly and I wish I had less debt than I do right now. I had just finished beauty school before I got pregnant and was only working part time in a salon. My husband has a stable job and we were already basically living on one income since I wasn’t working very much. We both agreed that I should stay home with the baby for as long as possible because it’s cheaper than daycare. So being used to one income already, you could say we were ready. 
We decided to accept the possibility of falling pregnant with the mindset that no matter how ready you think you are, no one is truly 100% prepared to have a baby, they just do with what they have and if it’s something that your heart is telling you you’re ready for then you’ll just make it work. There is no universal checklist, just the one that fits your heart.
