I’m a horseless horse lover..

Ca

I’m 24 and have wanted a horse since I can remember. My father was going to get me a horse, but he passed away just a few weeks before he was able to do so. I was only 9 years old. I think that’s made my love for horses stronger. I took some unprofessional lessons growing up. My mom didn’t have the money since it was just her, myself and my three brothers. I rode a friends horse who was very stubborn lol I loved every bit of it. She ended up being a great horse over the years I rode her while I was 11-16 years old. I almost got a horse when I was 15, but the horse would’ve been an hour away from me and my mom understandably backed out.

In 2020-2022 my husband got us a great deal at the farm he grew up working on. We got to live there rent free as long as we took care of their 16 Clydesdale horses. We had to feed them all

twice a day and we had to wash them weekly. We also took care of other hard task on the farm and feed their chicken, goats, and other odds & ends. It was a lot of work! I LOVED every bit of it and I miss it so much. I was pregnant when we first moved there and I was pregnant again right before we moved and I still did all that farm work!

Right now we’re renting and have three children ages 5, 2, and 1. My 5 year old daughter has been in horse lessons and she loves them as much as I do now lol

We have land a few minutes away from where we rent, but we don’t know if we want to live in this area forever. My husband is a highschool teacher and I’m a stay at home mom.

I still dream about having a horse and a little homestead. When we lived on the farm our daughter was 3 and 4 years old. She loved it so much. I want to raise my kids on a farm. A much smaller one than the one we worked on though.

Do any of you have anything to share? Did you ever have a passion for horses & end up getting one?

This is Echo. She was my favorite horse at the farm. She was just like a big dog that wanted cuddles!
