Thrombosis hemorrhoid?!

Question

Has anyone else had this? Just went to the er today and looks like my only option is surgery to remove it. Was wondering if anyone has had the surgery before and what the recovery is like? I'm sure it can't be worse than the pain I'm feeling now and I definitely want it removed before I go into labor. Currently 28 weeks.

I had it. At 34 weeks. I had it lanced and drained and recovery was ok . It has now shrunk all the way down and healed. It did not hurt at all to get drained and I had imediate relief. I am now 39 weeks and unfortunately gerring another hemroid that I really hope to god does not become thrombosed before during or after labor.  Good luck. :)

I had the surgery several years ago, and it was not pretty. It's local anesthesia and outpatient surgery. I was in a big open room leaning over a table while he did it. The local anesthesia shots hurt, and I felt the pressure of the cuts. Definitely not a fond memory, as I had a lot to remove dating back to childhood issues. The recovery involved suppositories and a lot of sitz baths.

Basically, I am so sorry you might have to go through it too. 😩

There is a cream the dr can prescribe to make it go down. I don't have the name handy but there are other options before surgery.
