I’m at UCSF for reasons not relating to my pregnancy.
I had a hemorrhagic stroke from a ruptured brain aneurysm, and the surgeon actually saved my life. 
I was unable to conceive for ten years, and one outpatient procedure with an RE at UCSF brought me this miracle baby. 
Needless to say, I’m a UCSF devotee for life. The hospital is primarily a research facility, so they are always suggesting new and cutting edge treatment. Their doctors are really top notch. They are super busy, so that can be a little off putting, but despite the brusque nature of the staff, the docs are so knowledgeable and will try anything to help you out, even if it’s not well known yet. I know, I was wary of a teaching/research hospital as well. They have really changed my mind by walking the walk and delivering results.
