Is it normal for your partner to push you away and not be affectionate?

Happened with out first. He was very distant and disinterested until the day our son was born. You would have thought I had the plague instead of a baby in my belly by how cold and removed he was. I think he was just really insecure about how this 3rd person would impact our relationship, and all the financial worry that comes along with becoming a parent, or specifically, him being a provider. He said quite a few times that I wasn't going to pay an ounce of attention to him once our son came, and that I was just using him for a baby & financial support. Serious jealousy and insecurity going on. After our baby was born, he saw everything was ok, not to mention he fell madly in love with his little boy. Bottom line, this is a rough time for guys too, just in a different way. He managed to pull his head out of his behind afterwards, and was genuinely sorry for how he behaved. Hang in there mama, I'm almost certain things will get better, just be patient. We're expecting our 2nd now, and it's MUCH better. Good luck! xx
