Burning throat

Hi general question I just got over a cold but, my throat feels like it’s hot like a burning sensation ( feels hot in the back of my throat ) but not sore nothing feels like puke kinda in your throat like it just stays I also have been dry coughing and alittle mucus comes up ( somtimes ) ? Could this be post nasal drip I talked to my mother about it but she didn’t say much . . . About it. I’m scared that it might be like a infection like one that can close up my throat and suffocate me but could it be post nasal ?
