Plantar Fasciitis Help!

Hannah

I’ve always been a fit person. I enjoy exercising - weight lifting, walking my dogs, going for jogs, swimming laps, hiking mountains…..you name it. But starting last October, I started experiencing the world’s worst plantar fasciitis. I was partially convinced it was a calcaneus stress fracture, the pain was so bad. I started doing every stretch recommended online. Got insoles for all my shoes (Superfeet insoles), bought shoes people swore up and down helped with their plantar fasciitis. I wear supportive shoes around my house all the time now. I’ve seen a podiatrist and gotten 3 cortisone shots in my heel (freaking OUCH!) and the pain isn’t even slightly better. I’m still stretching 2-3 times a day, I wear supportive shoes day and night, I stayed off my foot as much as possible (no walking my dogs, hiking, jogging, anything) for around 9 months, and lost 10 pounds thinking maybe it was weight related (5’7”, and was 180 when all this started happening). No change. I’m wondering if any of you have experienced something similar. What worked for you? Is it time to see an orthopedist and see if it’s not something more intense?
