Premature baby’s actual age?

My baby was born 5 weeks earlier than his due date. What makes me thinking is that is my baby’s age count from the day he was born or his actual due date? I’ve heard from here and there that for  prem babies, should start counting the day of their actual due date. Will my baby be slower than any other babies?

Uh....I was just told actual age vs adjusted age at 5 weeks early from your due date baby is practically full term so no need to worry unless your doctor is worried

My son was born 4 weeks premature. He is two now. From what I have been told by his drs is that that premature babies typically catch up with full term babies by the age of two. However, premature babies are at a higher risk for some delays like speech and motor skill delays. Not all of them, but statistically speaking, premature babies have a few more speed bumps to hurtle  over than full term babies. But they are also better cuddles, crave more of your love and affection, and love to have more fun! ❤️💙
