IUD and period delaying?

Hi everyone, I got my first IUD about 5/6 weeks ago it’s the non hormonal one. I got my period a day or two after insertion and it was painful but fine. I’m now due my next period in about a week but I have a weekend planned with a man and I do NOT want to have my period 😭 I know you can take a pill to delay your period, I did that with the help of my doctor once for going on holiday. I’m wondering if anyone knows is this something you can do with a non hormonal IUD? Thanks in advance to all xx
