Progesterone inserted vaginally

My ob currently prescribed my progesterone to take insert vaginally and I’ve read online mixed things about it I am currently 17 weeks and my cervix is short which is typical for my pregnancies I always delivery early but never been offered this before so I’m just seeing if any of you mamas have ever done it ??
