Friends ex got pregnant & cut him out

I have a male friend (early 30s) who was in a bad relationship with his ex. For example, she refused to work (no medical issues) and expected him to take a second job to support her financially. After a couple of years, she ended up coming off contraception without telling him as she wanted a baby. He previously made it clear he wasn't ready, especially financially but she kept asking. She would do things like delete all the photos of him off social media if he was to hang out with any of his friends. She had none herself but didn't want him to have any either. He didn't see any friends for months at a time because she would get so upset. Long story short she gets pregnant and shortly after they split up. He told her he wants to be involved in their babies life, even said he would support in anyway he can but she cut him completely out, blocked him on socials etc. He hasn't been able to get hold of her and her family refuses to talk to him either to pass a message on. The baby would be approaching 1 year now. Any advice what he could do? To be honest we are suprised she didn't ask for any child support (which he would have been willing to do). She definitley had the baby and my friends parents found out from a random message from one of the exes friends.
