How did you know labor was coming?

Maybe this is a dumb question but hear me out...i was induced at 37weeks with my daughter due to IUGR and gestational diabetes. So im not all too sure what to look for other than contractions. My back hurts, pelvic pressure and a "swollen" feeling downtown if you know what i mean...ugh. I cant get comfy, my back hurts, stomach issues, little contractions but nothing consistent, def feeling pain with em though. And im hotttt. What did yall experience? And how long did it take for you to go into labor after your symptoms changed? Or did you have any signs at all? Just curioussss.
