Ex wants me to wait for him

So my ex dumped me in the beginning of August and told me it was because of my trust issues (I caught him texting/sending photos to females on Snapchat and that's pretty much when i started getting cautious about who he was talking to)... Anyways he said if I worked on those issue's we could try again and so I did. Got a therapist and went on anxiety medication and worked on myself. Well forward to now and he says he's scared of getting hurt again (okay 🙄) and not ready to try again. He was seriously giving me mixed signals and even admitted to flirting with me.. He wants me to wait for him and says I need to prove I've changed.. We have a child together so that makes this even more difficult for me. He's also told me that it would bother him if I got with someone else. I feel like at this point I'm just being kept as his life as an option. Rere
