Who all do you buy presents for?

I’ve been seeing TikTok’s about people buying gifts for everyone and their cousin. Which is weird to me bc I never buy gifts for anyone but my kids and my parents/in laws. I would if I had nieces and nephews but I don’t yet. Everyone else does gift exchanges. Maybe I just have too big of a family, but I literally can’t imagine having to not only pay, but think of gifts to buy for so many people.

I think this can be cultural sometimes too. Ya the buying everyone gifts is bizarre to me. we buy for our immediate family and our parents. I have nieces and nephews but we agreed bday gifts only. Spaces out the expense.
We also think the car commercials are wild. Like I would never just to out and buy a vehicle without discussing an expense like that with my husband.

In my family we buy a joint gift for our parents, siblings & their spouces, and our best friend's who happen to be married to one another. We buy a single gift for our niece and nephews and a few gifts for our children.  I don't buy for my father and his wife, our grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins.

I usually buy for my SO, the kids; I do a combined gift for my parents, usually a gift card for someplace to eat for the in-laws, one of my SIL’s. In the past I’ve also bought for and exchanged gifts with a best friend and even a therapist, bc I enjoy gift giving.

Every family is different. I buy for my parents, siblings and nieces and nephews.
So total of 7 people. Just one gift for each. I usually do Black Friday sells. I don’t buy any expensive gifts. 
This year money is tighter because my bills are more expensive and I have a baby on the way so I’m trying to buy cheap but yet useful gifts.  Than I have my partners family to buy for. Luckily he doesn’t have a big family. He only buys for two people that’s close to him which is his grandma and brother.
I think I’ll order most gifts off of shein to try to not break the bank since I’ve got a lot of baby stuff to buy

Just by for your spouse, children, godchildren, parents(whoever raised you I just put as parents) and grandparents( if very close). If you have siblings that you're close to buy for them and their children. That's it. If you get along with your husband's parents and they'll buy you a present, buy them one too. Everyone else is an unnecessary expense.

Haha I’ve learned from being married every family is so different! For my family I pretty much only buy for nieces and nephews and even then we draw names. I will get something for my parents or sister if I happen to find something I’m confident they will like. My husbands family though we buy for cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents and it is a lot. I’m thankful he helps so much because I’m so bad at thinking of gifts

I purchase gifts for my close friends, my three partners that I’ve been with for 14 years, our son, and some other family members. 
People can buy gifts for whoever that choose to. It’s not weird to me.
