Should I be concerned? Well, I already am.

My 21 months daughter had a flu shot appointment today, which I personally scheduled and checked her in online. Unfortunately I was busy at work and couldn’t go. Her dad picked her up from daycare and took her to the appointment. I called them on their way back home and asked how it went. To my utter surprise, she got both flu vaccine and covid19 (first time, Moderna)!!!! I couldn’t believe it! I specifically talked to him last night and told him that I would schedule her for the covid19 vaccine a month later so that we can just have them separate. Since she goes to daycare I don’t want her exposed and not be protected.

First, I’m upset that the hospital used this appt for both instead of one as scheduled.

Second, I can’t believe my husband didn’t think through this and even call me to confirm if he wasn’t sure! How do you just let the nurse give the vaccines without even a thought! Ugh! I haven’t expressed my frustrations yet to him but I won’t sleep without a serious discussion on the fact that a baby can’t decide such things for themselves and WE are the adults. I feel like I married an idiot! Like he didn’t think about it or what?

My daughter will be okay. I’m an immunologist and so I do know how these vaccines work and definitely wouldn’t have had them give her Moderna let alone combine with flu vaccine.

Did any of your little ones get the combination?
