Am I having implantation bleeding?

Help? I have never had this and I am 37 so I’m thinking it could possibly be implantation bleeding? 
According to this app and fertility friend my period was scheduled to start yesterday and I should take a pregnancy test. Well the test was negative and the next bathroom trip I thought I had started my period. So I used a regular sized tampon as I would on a not at home first period day. When I got home there was almost nothing on it. So as usual used a pad at home and it was clean overnight which never happens on the first day. Then all day today it has just been discharge. Nothing to even penetrate a pad. Normally the second day is my heaviest day. 
My other symptoms are slight cramping, achy boobs and my emotions are all over the place. 
Thoughts? Should I message my doctor?

There’s not a lot of evidence that supports implantation causing vaginal bleeding. It’s so hyped up all over the internet so most people assume that any spotting is just that, when in actuality, it hasn’t even been proven to happen. 
I worked in the OBGYN field for a long time, and spotting is VERY COMMON and normal imminently prior to the start of a flow (within 1-3 days is typical). You should try not to use tampons until your flow has started to prevent vaginal tears/abrasions due to the potential lack of lubrication. 
If you’re spotting or bleeding around the time of your period, it’s highly unlikely it’s related to anything else, but you should test again in a few days, depending on the circumstances then. If it’s positive, make sure to report any spotting or bleeding to your Doctor!
