Hey there, from a queer perspective, gender reveals are problematic. What if your child does not align with the sex assigned to them at birth? Making a big deal out of a child’s sex assigned at birth may further enhance the the notion of the gender binary, which is a construct.

Children should have the freedom to identify with the gender that most closely aligns with them, gender fluidity, or no gender at all.

I believe that forcing gender culturally and literally is cruel and pushy and impacts a child’s natural identity formation process.

Let children be free. Let them find themselves and explore and not be confined to oppressive constructs.
