When did you have your first scan?

My doctor doesn’t recommend routine dating scans. So no scan for me until 12 weeks! Feels weird to not have an early scan this time…

I have always been scheduled for between 8-12 weeks.. #1 was at 10+3, #2 was right at 10, #3 was at 10+5 and #4 will be right at 9.

12 weeks is still a routine dating scan. Personally im surprised that so many places will let you get scanned <8 weeks when they may not be able to find anything if you ovulated late.

I’m having my first scan tomorrow at exactly 7 weeks. I should say that I’m also high risk with 1 previous miscarriage, 37 years old and a T1D. I’ll see my specialist OB next week and she’ll probably do another scan.

Just had my first scan at 16weeks🤷‍♀️.  My ob was overbooked and I kept getting put off.  But even with a scan that late, I was still told it was too early to determine the gender.  So idk.

Usually 8 weeks. I had some spotting with my second baby so they checked earlier on & with my third I had irregular periods so going by my LMP I was supposed to be 8 weeks but I was reallly only barely 6 weeks. I don’t remember when they did the scan w my first, but generally the dating scan is between 8-12 weeks.

I had mine at 5 weeks but only because I had an ectopic pregnancy before. Normally they schedule for week 12.

I've always been scheduled for the 8 week mark. Earliest was 6 weeks with my 1st because I didn't know when the 1st day of my last period was. Latest was 13 weeks with my 3rd because of insurance issues. Everyone else was at 8 weeks though. Normal, abdominal ultrasounds. Saw baby just fine. 😊

4 and 6 weeks but it was elective, i didn’t see my dr until 13 and that’s when i had my first scan.

In the UK we aren’t scanned until 12 weeks. Then once more at 20 weeks. 
(Unless of course you have extra health needs, then you might have monthly growth scans from 28 weeks).
