Teaching rant

On my planning period completely pissed off. I may end up either resigning or transferring schools next year which sucks because I love the kids. I had a talk with my principal about a student who has threatened to harm me. We've had these issues with her before and she says to me "She's 15. Just ignore her. I'm sorry, are we forgetting that 6 YEAR OLD SHOT HIS TEACHER!!! Not only did this little child shoot his teacher, when he was restrained he happily admitted to it and said "I shot that bitch!" I think it's disgusting that we still aren't taking threats to teachers lives seriously. You wanna know one of the most fucked up parts about that case. The school tried to say something like That's part of the job and blah blah blah. No. Just like kids shouldn't have to go to school worried about a school shooting, teachers shouldn't have to go to school worried that one of their students is gonna unalive them because the school won't do anything. I do hope that little boy is getting help because clearly for a 6 year old to do that something is seriously wrong BUT you would think after that admin would take their teachers' safety more seriously. A 6 year old shot his teacher and you don't think a 15 year old girl could harm me? This for 30,000 dollars a fucking year!
