me and my bf and our 1 year old live with his parents. i do not currently work and my bf did work up until he got sick with his chronic illness and was in the hospital. besides the point he owes student loans and doesn’t want IRS to take it all. his parents offered to claim us and then give us the money when the refund comes. they do it with their other kids and grand children as well but i’m not sure how i feel about it. i also feel like i can’t claim my own child because i’m not technically the “head of household” although we manage to get her everything our baby needs with any money we do get outside of the grandparents.
