Is positive opk but no ovulation common?

I got a positive opk yesterday, and peak today. Lots of ewcm yesterday and this morning. I know it’s possible to get an lh surge but not actually ovulate, even though it’s uncommon.
So my question is HOW uncommon? Like 2% of any given cycles uncommon? Or like 30% uncommon? 
This is my first time having a positive opk and signs of ovulation since starting metformin so I’m a bit nervous!

Yes it is! Especially if you do have pcos and have surges but don’t actually ovulate but have a regular cycle. Metformin gave me back my cycles every 28 days had a surge but never truly ovulated maybe 1-2 times a year if lucky. I needed clomid and metformin to fall pregnant. Even 5 out 7 rounds on clomid I didn’t ovulate but had a surge. I had been on metformin for 3 years before falling pregnant.
