Traumatic birth

Erin

I had my baby today at 11:15 at 38 weeks and 1 day! She was 7 pounds , 11 oz and 20 inches long. They broke my water at 9 am, continued pitocin and was ready to push at 11:00. I pushed for 15 min but her shoulders got stuck and they called in 7 other nurses and three were pushing on my belly to push her out and made my husband step aside. He’s an ICU nurse and this has him shaking as he realizes her heart rate was dropping. She was blue when I had her but thankfully she is okay. With shoulder dystocia you only have a couple of minutes to get the baby out before the baby gets neurological issues or can did. She is super bruised on her face and arms! I’m just so thankful she is okay! My pelvic area is super strained and I can’t even lift my legs to walk. I never realized what should dystocia was until today so I just wanted to share my experience!
