It’s been a wild ride today. I went in at 5:30AM for my c-section scheduled for 7:30AM. I was completely prepped. IV placed, gowned, shaved, pre-op medication given, met with anesthesia, met my nurses, and my husband was gowned up. We were 5 minutes out from walking to the OR, and the doctor came in and canceled the procedure due to me being COVID positive, which he was well aware of since Monday.

Mind you, I called the practice AND the hospital several times since my positive result Monday. Every time I spoke to anyone, the procedure was still on. The entire care team didn’t seem phased that I was positive except the doctor himself at the last minute. It’s been a long day with many sudden changes and I am mentally drained and anxiously awaiting doing all this over again in 5 days.
