Sizing help!

I feel silly for asking this, but is anyone familiar with Carters sizes? Is 0-3 months the same as 3 months in other brands? And 3-6 months = 6 months? Some of my Carters clothes say 3 months on the tag, but when I go online to buy more it says 0-3 or 3-6, 6-9, etc and I’m confused. Also, is 24 months the same as 2T? Ugh why is this so confusing. Help!

3 and 0-3 in one brand is the same but this size in carters may not be identical to the same label size in another brand. So 0-3 in carters may not be the same as 0-3 in target cat and jack. Most brands have a size charts online that you can reference the inches that they associate with each size. 24 and 2T are very close but 2T is slightly bigger in all brands I’ve seen. 
With my son (2yr old in 3T) I did notice that Cat and Jack and sometimes Old Navy run just a little bigger than Carters in the infant sizes.

Baby clothes are such a mind game. Every brand runs differently so I use the weight charts a lot. Carters started off good for me but my baby had chunky thighs and so carters didn’t work for us after 6m. A good way is to hold up onesies or clothes to something that fits and see if it’s cut bigger or smaller. In general, use the smallest size of a range to match your babies age. So 3-6m is a 3m, 6-9m is 6m, etc.

The difference between 24m and 2t is that the 24m has more room for a diaper and the 2t starts to get slimmer. 
24m are wider and 2t is longer typically.
0-3 is typically closer to 3m. If you babe is fitting in 3m and you want more, I’d get 3-6m and let them grow into it. 
Every brand is a little different. When my kids were in 3m, we had all the clothes out for 0-3, 3, and 3-6m. They fit into some in every range depending on the brand.

Yes, 3m is the same as 0-3m, 6m is 3-6m, etc. And 24m is the same as 18-24m not 2T. What is really hard is that the months can be completely irrelevant and boys clothes tend to be bigger/wider than girls. My daughter is 2.5yo and can still wear a 12m jacket lol

I always put any clothes that say 3m in with my 0-3 size, I just use them as the same size. and 2T is bigger than 24m
