Is it normal for day 3 of breastfeeding to be soooo painful? I wanna cry

Mine was pretty painful and it ended up being a lip tie. Neither my lactation consultant or pediatrician caught it for over a month. We got it snipped and it was a major relief

Unfortunately it can be, yes. You should see a lactation consultant if you are able, to make sure you have a good latch. Also when you are done each feed, spray some breast milk on your nipples and let them air dry. You can also try lanolin. 
My breastfeeding journey with my first baby was rough. I powered through it but it was painful for months. She had a terrible latch and the lactation specialists could not seem to help me. Around 4 months a switch flipped and it wasn’t painful anymore. My second child was nothing like that, it was a breeze from day one.

Yes unfortunately it can be! Are you seeing a lactation specialist? Usually pain is indicative of a latch issue. Google the flipple technique to help baby get a proper latch and the pain should subside once you heal and the baby gets used to a proper latch

Yesssss! For me personally it only started to ease off after two weeks. I got a natural nipple cream… with all natural and organic ingredients. kept my nipples lathered in that… wiped off only before nursing and a nipple shield helped a little bit… stick it through if you can. It’s the best experience and very very well worth it! My fourth baby is just over 9 months and I’m cuddling her and nursing her to sleep as I’m typing this! ❤️ so glad I didn’t give up with her
