When I was trying to get pregnant I was using the opks. However, since I’m not tracking I can usually tell when I’m ovulating or get a general idea by the app. I just tend to make sure I’m not having sex during my window.

I’d do both, be sure if you test BBT you have the correct thermometer & you can download the fertility friend app which helps track your BBT

I bought mine on Amazon, I just searched basal body thermometer (I believe the difference is the BBT goes an extra number so it’s more accurate) then you’ll want to take your temperature every morning right when you wake up (I kept mine by my bedside but I’ve heard of people putting it under their pillow so it’s easy to grab right away). I used the fertility friend app to track all of it & I actually got my rainbow baby in July using this method! I hope this helps

What thermometer would i need?

I used both. Opks tell you when a surge is coming and bbt tells you when you actually ovulated. If youre wanting to time sex, you need both.

There are great instructions online, much more complete than I could give here. I recommend using one of those.

I prefer ovulation tests. But it’s important you understand how and when to test.

The ovulation tests are your best bet. With first pee of the morning. I think it’s more accurate than tracking your basal body temperature

This is all misinformation. Dont use morning pee for opks. And BBT is more accurate and precise than OPKs.

Testing with first morning urine is not accurate for ovulation testing and means you may miss peak. It’s best to test later in the day.
