Baby #2 labor

I am 37weeks tomorrow and just had an appointment and doc said I was already 2.5-3cm dilated! But said I have a ways to go with cervix effacement. With my first, I my water broke at 39.5wks and I was only 2cm. Was anyone else dilated more this much earlier with their second too? If so, how early did you have baby? Or did you make It to due date still?
